Eating Disorder Recovery

Recovery from an eating disorder is possible. At Glacier Lily Therapy, you will receive personalized, non-carceral eating disorder therapy that honors your unique relationship with food and body image. Lia brings over 10 years of experience supporting adolescents and adults across inpatient, residential, and outpatient levels of care for eating disorders and disordered eating. Whether you are struggling with restrictive eating, binge eating disorder, chronic dieting, emotional eating, or body image concerns, therapy can help you build a more peaceful relationship with food and your body. Treatment is trauma-informed and integrates evidence-based behavioral and somatic approaches to support lasting recovery by addressing both symptoms and underlying causes.

You may benefit from eating disorder therapy
if….

  • Food feels stressful and overwhelming

  • You frequently think about calories, weight, or shape

  • Eating makes you feel guilt or shame

  • You are stuck in a cycle of “clean eating” all day, only to “lose control” and binge eat or overeat at night, then promise yourself never to do it again, only to get stuck in that cycle.

  • You avoid social situations involving food

  • Your self worth feels tied to your appearance

  • Recovery feels impossible

Recovery is more than about food, it can look
and feel like…

  • Reduced food anxiety

  • Improved body trust

  • More flexibility around eating

  • Better emotional regulation

  • Improved relationships

  • Increased quality of life

Our Approach To Healing

We have expertise in treating binge eating disorder, orthorexia, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, compulsive over eating or over exercising, ARFID, and body dysmorphia using the following modalities

Intuitive Eating & Health at Every Size

Rebuild trust with your body and break free from diet culture through intuitive eating. You’ll learn core principles such as honoring hunger and fullness, making peace with food, finding satisfaction, and coping with emotions with self-compassion. Lia has received advanced supervision from the founders of Intuitive Eating, bringing specialized expertise to eating disorder recovery and relationship with food work.

Evidence Based Approaches

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) are evidence-based treatments for eating disorders. These approaches help you understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and acceptance of uncertainty to support lasting eating disorder recovery.

Somatic Approaches

Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Somatic Experiencing are body-based, trauma-informed approaches used in eating disorder therapy. IFS helps you understand and work with different “parts” of yourself that shape thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Somatic Experiencing supports healing through the body by increasing present-moment awareness, emotional identification, and interoception. Together, these approaches support nervous system regulation and lasting eating disorder recovery.
